Great Memories Teaching in South Australia. 1990 -1993
In 1990 I moved to South Australia and commenced teaching Manchurian Comjuka Kempo and Modern Arnis in the suburb of Salisbury. I affiliated our training centre with the Australian Martial Arts Association whose president was Karate Grandmaster Bill Vaughn (10 Dan).
While in South Australia my students were encouraged to participate in local Martial Arts tournaments in order to prove their effectiveness in tournament situation. The students had proven themselves as we had won several medals in the AMAA and also Taekwondo tournaments.
I also grew a professional friendship with local fellow Filipino Martial Arts Instructors Vince Polumbo and Nino Pilla. Through this friendship the students and I participated in many seminars including meeting up again with Grandmaster Cacoy Canete (Doce Pares Eskrima) in a seminar of Filipino Stick Fighting and Filipino Grappling. We participated in a seminar of Jeet Kune Do and Kali with the great Sifu Dan Inosanto. Got to meet my Sensei's Arnis Instructor Grandmaster Rodel Dagooc who was touring Australia with Australian Goju Grandmaster Tino Ceberano in which we trained in Modern Arnis.
I had a great Martial Arts experience in South Australia and made many friends in Martial Arts.
My father passed away in 1992 at the young age of 48 and I felt compelled to return to Darwin. In 1993 I returned to the Top End of the Northern Territory.EndFragment
