In 1980 l went to Gawler High School
South Australia
In 1981 l went to Werribee High School
Victoria
1n 1982 l went to Darwin High School
Northern Territory
While l was at Werribee High School l achieved high standards in my education achievements. Finally managed to get straight A marks and receiving merit awards. I also participated in a school musical production of the Hobbit playing a goblin.
Dad then got his next RAAF posting to Darwin, this put me in the situation of 3 high schools in 3 years.
My time at Darwin High l became an out of control teenager. I do believe if l could have stayed at Werribee High School l could have continued to achieve.
I eventually was expelled from Darwin High School after l had been continuously bullied by Darwin local gangs at the school and was forced to retaliate.
My success after my time in the classroom was largely due to my Martial Arts Training with Sensei Robert Fitton and Sensei Terry Dunstan. Also my time with Sensei Kim Hanley. These Martial Arts instructors helped me set goals and helped me go down a more successful journey.
While l was unemployed for 4 years in South Australia from 1990 to 1994 it was martial arts that kept me on the right track with my own school teaching others and coaching others to win many tournaments in this period.
In 1993 I met Tino Ceberano Hanshi, then my Dad died. I moved back to Darwin and from 1994 to this Day l have been continuously employed from Casino Security and Surveillance, NT Police and since 2012 NT Corrections. I also spent 10 years as a volunteer sports photographer for motorsports, fight nights and even ice hockey with some photos making it to news media papers, magazines and TV news.
I have been teaching Martial Arts since 1987. My first student from 1987 still trains with me to this day and he has also achieved great status in his choice of employment.
